Pen Plotter Art
I’ve been experimenting with art created by code, and drawn in physical form with an AxiDraw pen plotter, and I’m not sure if it’s the ideal melding of technology and physicality for me, but it’s certainly getting closer. Note that ‘ay-eye’ is not involved in this art in any way. I, a human, write the code that generates the image (or I might integrate code written by another human), so it’s still me making the art. I just ask a robot to hold the pen for me.
I got a start working with Processing, and the wonderful video tutorials from Coding Train. I’ve also picked up the books Coding Art and Generative Design, and am finding learning these algorithms really satisfying. Anyway, I expect to be doing more of this.
